Video Game Submissions (VGS) Overview  ($1000 Cash Prizes)
The Wicked Film Festival (WFF) is dedicated to independent game development. Our aim is encourage indie game makers and designers and showcase exciting and innovative work to industry and the public.

Video Game Submissions (VGS) invites indie game artists and designers, of all ages from around the world, to submit their existing game (Entry), along with a trailer of up to 5 minutes duration.

Key Dates

  • Open for submissions – 6 November 2015
  • Deadline for Regular submissions Midnight – 31 October 2016
  • Judging Begins – 1 November 2016
  • Wicked Film Festival – Video Game Announcements by 20 November 2016

1. Eligibility – You retain copyright and IP to your respective Entry/Submission and game.
1.1 Our use of the term ‘game’ refers to any type of interactive entertainment. We accept interactive entertainment of all types, including virtual worlds, augmented reality games, alternate reality games, big games, installations, interactive narratives, 2D, 3D, mobile, experimental, web-based games, and social games. We also welcome such alternative content such as serious games, documentary games, activist games, learning games.
1.2 We only accept Entries made in English.
1.3 We also accept Entries of computer games and/or games which are works-in-progress.
1.4 Applicants agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.
1.5 Each applicant may only submit one entry. If you would like to submit another entry you must apply again
Note: WFF and its partners reserve the right to not accept and/or disqualify, at any time, any Entry that WFF does not believe is suitable.

2. Fees
We only accept payment of fees through PayPal.
There is a non refundable submission administration fee of:
Regular Submission Fees – AUD$50.00
Student Submission Fees (20 years old and under) – AUD$20.00

Name of school
Lecturer’s/Teacher’s name
Email address of lecturer or teacher

3. How to Enter
Complete and submit your online submission form
Pay relevant Submission fee via PayPal
You will receive confirmation of your successful submission

4. How to submit
You will also receive instructions where to submit your Entry online via Dropbox
Upload your game to the dropbox folder
Applicant must supply a 5 mins Trailer
Detailed synopsis of the game
Production credits of cast and crew
5 Photos for promotional purposes, no smaller than 1024 x 576 pixels
Any promotional for use by WFF

5. How submissions are used
All Entry of games will be accepted and assessed with the view to showcase your Entry at an WFF event. However, some Entries may not be chosen due to their suitability and/or volume of entries.
Selection and judging of Entries will be undertaken by a jury panel appointed by the WFF and their decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
WFF may use your Entry or any part thereof, name, any photos and promotional/marketing material supplied by you for publicity purposes.

6. Awards  ($1000 Cash Prizes)
Prizes and Awards will be given during the Wicked Film Festival, at the discretion of the organisers and the Jury panel.

7. Rights of your Entry
By submitting an Entry, you grant WFF the right to screen your Entry and any other material and/or information submitted by you, at an WFF event.

Our right to showcase your Entry includes the right to copy, reproduce, modify, adapt and any part thereof, and otherwise communicate it to the public in all media, including via our website and publicity materials, or to advertise and promote WFF, events, its products and services, or all, and to showcase your Entry.

8. Warranty
You warrant that:
8.1 You own the copyright to your Entry and game as its author and represent and warrant that You have (and will continue to have during the duration of the WFF and thereafter) all necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions we need to use your Entry and you will provide evidence of such on our reasonable request.
8.2 Your Entry is a trailer of a game that is your own original work.
8.3 Your Entry and game do not infringe any copyright, right of privacy or any other third-party rights and does not contain anything that is defamatory, obscene or otherwise offensive.
8.4 The Entry is not defamatory and obscene and that it shall not infringe any third party rights including, without limitation, privacy and you will provide evidence of such on our reasonable request.
8.5 We reserve the right not to publish or to cease to publish your Entry for any or no reason including, without limitation, if we deem that your Entry is in breach of any law or regulation or otherwise may create a liability for WFF.
8.6 By submitting an Entry, you agree to allow us to contact you for future information, news or activities. Your information will not be passed on to any third parties without the written permission of either you or your parent or legal guardian if you are under 18 years.

9. Disclaimer
WFF accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by any person as a result of submitting an Entry to VGS. We further accept no liability for any injury or damage to your, nor any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading or uploading any materials in connection with the VGS.
